EMBARRASSING! - The only word for the Vancouver Olympic 2010 opening ceremony. There were technical errors, and for the most part it looked very unrehearsed and cheap. I doubt that Vancouverites are going to be too pleased on how the budget was spent for that part of the winter games.

And what the heck was with Wayne Gretzky! I was quite disturbed when the poor old guy was waving from a truck, in the pouring rain, for five minutes, with the Olympic torch. And to make it worse, meanwhile the people inside the Arena were told to stay in their seats.

Sigh. I don't usually drink, but with this embarrassment, I had a shot of Vodka.

At least the aboriginal people got a part in the games - if there is anything to shed light on for the Olympics, it's that.

On a completely different note, I tried matcha tea today. I must say, it's not my thing. I made my nauseous, which was not worth all of the anti-oxidants.

And now for today's very quickly drawn sketch (gotta get to bed soon U_U")

Day two of my daily blog.

I saw a guy running with the Olympic torch today. For all the cheering and carrying on, it was a bit anticlimactic. That's not to say that I didn't enjoy myself. It was nice to see something out of the ordinary, although the image will probably be out of mind in a week.

I lost a lot of fake money in online poker last night. I couldn't sleep and played until 3am. I slept until 10:45am - just in time to get ready for work. I'll get it back though. I'll win a tournament or two and get all of my fake money back.

*cough*

BUT I'LL STUDY BEFORE I PLAY POKER!

*cough*

And now for today's sketch!

New rule for this blog.

I am now going to write daily.

It's cool looking back at my life from months and years past, but perhaps I should give my future self a glimpse of the past from every day of my life.

To make this blog a bit more interesting, I'm also going to sketch a picture to go with each day. The sketches may be pretty lame, but at least I'll be able to see my art develop (or shrivel into a pile of stick men and squiggly lines).

-----------

So, lets start for today.

Today I worked as usual, almost finished a sudoku, and had a lovely pot of earl grey tea and biscuits with my father.

I wore one of my new shirts, but it unfortunately had to be covered up by my Olympic work uniform (An ugly, yet really comfy fleece jacket, which strangely enough has nothing Olympic about it).

I'm gonna hem my new pants tomorrow. I've been jean deprived for too long, and it's going to be good to dress like my own age again. I've been dressing like a 50 year-old
for two years now -

*EPIPHANY*

So, That's why I'm single! (besides the obvious weight problem, pestulant personality, and the inferiority complex that goes with both of those traits.)

Changing the subject: without further ado, TODAY'S SKETCH!

So, I got an A- on the first assignment of my course. I submitted the second a couple of days ago and it will hopefully get a better mark. I sure worked on it long enough. Apparently my grammar sucks on formal papers though. The first page was completely marked up once my dad was through with looking at it. However, my grammar got better as the paper went on - or he just got bored of reading it.

The Olympics are coming in a few days. I'm excited because Vancouver has become the centre of attention for the world, perhaps in the nick of time. Perhaps the world can see that a lot of the propaganda of "Beautiful British Columbia" is just a load of BS. Homelessness, drugs, and corruption - all hidden by a big white tent of Olympic festivities and two weeks of over-expensive fun for elitist pricks unable to recognize poverty if it walked out in front of them. (But the impoverished won't show up - they are supposed to stay inside a couple of makeshift buildings until the games are over).

No one should be protesting now though - we can be sour, but we can't protest. The money is already spent and we can't do a thing about it.

To make it worse - I have to wear patent leather high heeled gogo boots to work during the Olympics.

GOGO BOOTS! - that's all I have to say about that.

Sooo --- It Flopped

Like almost everything I do in life, the musical flopped. I also wrote 26000 words of a novel and it flopped too. I'd like to say that I want to turn the 26000 words into a comic, but I doubt that'll happen.

In more positive news, I'm starting a distance education course in geography. Yes - one of the courses I failed last year. I read the first chapter of the textbook tonight, and it's gonna be a tough course. I think I'll have to read the chapter another two times just to understand it. Sigh...

It's Christmas in ten days BTW. The strange thing is that for Christmas I want soap - lots and lots of sweet honey-flavored goodness packed into bars ready to make suds in my morning routine.

And an old-fashioned wooden bed frame. And some mittens. And --- i forgot what else i put on my list, but it'll come to me (hopefully tangibly rather than in my dreams tonight) *ish greedy*

Well enough blather. Hopefully the course will go well and Christmas will be full of soapy goodness.

Looking Back U__U

So, university wasn't the "wonder" I dreamed of. In short - I failed last year. I'm now taking a year off to work in an old ladies shoe store, but not to worry, I've already planned my courses for September 2010.

This year off I plan to do a lot of drawing (like stuff way better than the background X__X"). I never realized how bad I was at Photoshop last year. I'm also writing a musical with my friend John (Woopy, I found friends in University) and I hope that I won't be posting that it flopped due to laziness or lack of time.

So, one more week until the semester is over and them I'll no longer be a college student; I'll be a university student!

Yes, I made it into the university of my choice, although it took an extra year... but, oh well, I've done lots of things that I wouldn't have been able to do in university. For example, I've made more friends than I ever made in high school. Yup, believe it or not, yours truly was a premium geek back in the old days when Brittany spears hadn't gone totally insane. I've also gotten much better grades than I ever have before and gained the confidence to do about anything, except sing in front of a group of people (don't ask... I've done it twice in the past month and failed miserably at it).

As for things that sad about:

.
I'm going to miss the community aspect of college life.
. I'm gonna miss the relatively small work load and subjective marking.
. I'm gonna miss going on the bus and sky train to school.
.
I'm gonna miss all the cute guys that I never asked out (Holla out if you read this btw)

.
I'm gonna miss the constricting space of the college.

. I'm gonna miss RECOGNIZING ALL THE HOBOS, lol.
.
Lastly, I'm really gonna miss my friends... I mean some, of them are transfering to the university too, but they're going to different faculties than I am. Dang business students... why couldn't they have done arts like me?
